The device radiates a low-power 4G LTE cell signal which is supposed to be good for a 50' radius. The network extender connects to one of the LAN ports on the internet router.
#VERIZON WIRELESS SIGNAL BOOSTERS MAC#
(This is used so that clients connecting to the Network Extender have emergency E911 service.) Assuming the device's MAC address is registered with Verizon Wireless AND the device can acquire a GPS signal, the device setup is essentially a plug-and-play operation. Incidentally, the device does have a GPS radio/antenna and it must acquire a GPS signal during the device initialization process. The device does not require access to a 4G LTE Verizon cellular tower signal. The rep registered the device in their system so that the device would now successfully complete the setup procedure. We provided the customer support rep with the MAC address of the Network Extender device.

Since another person in my household has Verizon Wireless service, we contacted Verizon Wireless customer support. I was told by Visible customer support that Visible would not register the device - contrary to another Visible user's experiences which I saw in the forum.

In order to get through the setup procedure with the device, it is necessary for the MAC address of the device to be registered under the account of a Verizon Wireless customer.

We purchased a "Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Network Extender 2" device (see ). I also live in a rural area which has very poor 4G LTE Verizon service.
